Bram Oosterhuis’ Studio

Bram Oosterhuis’ Studio

Bram Oosterhuis is a designer without a distinctive style. His philosophy is to keep an open mind to constantly react on the world around him, and to shape and reshape his designs accordingly. His designs are defined by his method, typical solutions and details. He deliberately aims to avoid one obvious style, therefore he never starts from his own work to create a new design.

In my designs I strive to do more than represent a nice idea.

Sustainability is an important theme for Bram. Sustainability allows his designs to surpass their usability and become a precious treasure. A part of a personal collection of favorite things that are close to the user’s heart.

Basematters presents from Bram Oosterhuis the Crux and Crux Table.

The Crux represents the optimal balance between functionality, form and ease of use. A balanced design based on a strict mathematical model. Bram Oosterhuis skilfully transformed the mathematical shapes of the Crux stool to a beautiful slim table. With some subtle changes he created a true original while still managing to perfectly hold on to the initial design.
